Last Friday, I weighed 181.4. Lori and I recorded a conversation I had with her on Monday (check that out here) and I confessed to her that I had been breaking lots of rules during that time. I love fasting and wanted to get back on track, but I know I need accountability to do that. We decided that I would immediately start fasting by the rules again and that I would do a sort of video diary about my fasting to keep myself accountable. So I started doing those every day, at least once a day. You can find those on TikTok or on our YouTube channel Honest Talk playlist.
Monday through Thursday my weight kept bouncing between 181.4 and 180.8, but when I stepped on the scales this morning (Friday), it had dropped to 179.2, which is the lowest I’ve been so far! The drop could be due to a few things. It could just be that it took time for the results of my return to fasting by the rules to kick in. Or it could be that yesterday I did two things differently – I did a low-impact aerobic workout and I had a larger portion of protein for dinner. (When I’ve tried to lose weight in the past, it seemed that higher protein intake was one of the keys to success.)
So I’m down 2.2 pounds this week, which puts me back in the range I like to be. I like to average 2 to 3 pounds of weight loss per week. This week’s loss puts me back in that range. My new “back to basics” routine started Monday, and I’m curious to see what my weight is this Monday (one week later). It would be awesome if it were 178.4 (three pounds lost from Monday to Monday), but 2.2 for this week is great too!

I had a good week with my weight. In the previous Wrap-Up, I was down 9.1 pounds. That was probably lots of water and other stuff from about three weeks of vacation. This week I dropped from 151.7 last Friday to 147.4 today. That’s a weight loss of 4.3 pounds. That’s still a lot in a week and is still a lot of vacation weight coming off.
I reached a total weight loss this week of 56 pounds! That already sounds like (and is) a lot, but consider this. A gallon of milk weighs 8 pounds. So I’ve lost the equivalent of 7 gallons of milk! Think about walking around with 7 gallons of milk on your back. That A LOT of stress off your body.

Monday
I didn’t document what I ate Friday through Sunday for some reason, but Monday night, I had three salmon patties with a little mayo on them and a large salad (which I didn’t finish) that had romaine lettuce, diced tomato, shredded mozzarella cheese, and Trader Joe’s Organic Parmesan Vinaigrette.
Tuesday
Tuesday afternoon I broke my fast early with some pork rinds. Breaking early isn’t good, but pork rinds weren’t a horrible choice. They’re all fat, which is fine when you’re fasting for weight loss.
Tuesday evening for dinner I had more salmon patties, steamed broccoli with Tajin seasoning sprinkled on it, and some stuffed mini peppers. The peppers were stuffed with cream cheese, Italian sausage, some red onion I cooked with the sausage, and some shredded Mozzarella cheese. I just stuffed them and put them in the air fryer for about seven minutes.
Wednesday
Wednesday evening for dinner I had a sort of clean-out-the-fridge meal. It included the rest of the salmon patties, a couple of chicken sausage links, steamed broccoli, the last couple stuffed peppers, and a Sargento Colby-Jack cheese stick. I forgot to take a picture.
I also ate a little later in the night, but it’s another mistake that could have been worse. I took about six tortilla chips out of the bag but ate only two of them then stopped and threw the rest in the trash.
Thursday
Thursday night I had some pork loin and green beans. I sprinkled some of the Tajin seasoning on the pork loin and it was yummy!

Friday
Friday night I had Egg Drop Soup (which is super easy to make) and broccoli with garlic sauce.
Saturday
Saturday I had:
- A salad with shredded cheese, jalapeno peppers, diced ham, bacon bits, and a tablespoon each of Ranch dressing and Balsamic vinegar.
- Scrambled eggs with diced ham and jalapeno peppers
Sunday
Sunday I had:
- a broiled boneless, skinless chicken thigh
- a salad with the same dressing I had Saturday, bacon bits, diced ham, shredded cheese, raisins, and jalapeno peppers
Monday
I fasted Monday.
Tuesday
Tuesday I had some more broiled boneless skinless chicken thighs again.
Wednesday
Wednesday I had StEggs (amazing scrambled eggs made by my husband Steve)
Thursday
Thursday night we went out to eat at our favorite sushi place. I had:
- Garden Roll – Tempura shrimp, cream cheese, mango, soy paper, blue crab, and rice, no crunch on top.
- Hibachi steak and vegetables. I ate just about half of this.
